The
Commodification of Life
by Ethan Ash
Prepare yourself for a new era in the world of marketing and consuming
as the Transnational Capitalist elites consolidate more power and
wealth through the exploitation of third world nations and the conditioning
of loyal consumers. What is their tool? Globalization and your money.
Through the globalization and free trade of markets,
corporations have established transnational institutions like the
WTO and WB through which they can impose sanctions and undermine
local environmental laws and cultural traditions. They also usually
seek out the countries most easily exploited and most desperate
for some kind of economic stimulation. These strategies used for
profit maximization often have destructive and immoral consequences.
The fragmentation of production chains throughout the world is making
national boundaries less relevant and is slowly decreasing national
sovereignty over their own markets. This is accompanied by an unprecedented
concentration of power among the Transnational bourgeoisie forming
a transnational class struggle and putting the power of global destruction
in their hands.
Everyday we participate in globalization, lending more oppressive
power to Transnational Corporations as we are subjugated just as
much as those enduring horrendous sweatshop conditions, the destruction
of environments, and the maintenance of global poverty. While third
world nations suffer these injustices, our privileged citizens are
routinely brainwashed into brand loyalty and conditioned to look
past what is really going on. Release yourself from this immoral
system and take up arms!

such things as pollution, deforestation, animal abuse, lethal tobacco
promotion, sweatshop labor, arms sales, and genetic manipulation
